The Pre-tournament manual is a comprehensive guide to the 2012 Baltimore Mania Tournament. It includes information regarding entry requirements, registration instructions, and general tournament information.


 

Location

  • The primary sites will be
    • Covenant Park in Ellicott City, Maryland (most likely younger age groups)
    • Cedar Lane Regional Park in Bel Air, MD
    • Carsins Run Turf Farm in Bel Air, MD
    • Harford Polo grounds in Jarresttsville, MD

Age Groups & Eligibility (Now offering U11 11v11)

  • U11-12 (11v11 only) - $825 entry fee
  • U13 - $825 entry fee
  • U14 and U15* - $850 entry fee
  • U16 - U19* - $900 entry fee
    • * U15 thru U19 teams are required to submit a separate $350 forfeit bond check. This check will only be cashed if the team forfeits during the tournament, pulls out of the tournament after acceptances are posted. All bond checks will be destroyed at the end of tournament weekend unless previous arrangements are made.
  • Divisions within each age group will be based on the quality of applicants.
  • Application Deadline: January 5, 2012
    • Applications after the January 5th application date will be subject to a late fee. The entry fee on the payment page may not reflect the costs listed above.
    • Teams who choose to pay by credit card may be charged an additional fee.
       

The Baltimore Mania Soccer Tournament is open to all competitive and classic club teams. The Baltimore Mania Soccer Tournament is open to all competitive and classic club teams. This is a US Club Sanctioned tournament. All teams must be affiliated and their players registered with USYSA through their respective state associations or US Club Soccer.

There is optional tournament insurance available for individual non-US Club Soccer teams where the State Association has wrongfully denied them insurance to attend. Individual teams should check with their state associations about their secondary insurance coverage as each state may be different. Applications

  • Applications will only be accepted through the SoccerSheduler program. If you have previously registered for another tournament whose applications are processed by SoccerScheduler, you will already have a team page in their system. If this is your first application to a tournament processed by SoccerScheduler, you will need to create your team page at the start of the application process.
  • Deadline for on-line registration and payment of entry fee is January 5, 2012. Applications received , or applications still unpaid after January 5 will be placed on a waiting list.

Applications are not considered complete until payment of the entry fee is made. We suggest that you send your tournament fee payment check by postal mail to the Elite Tournaments' office immediately after you apply online and receive your application confirmation number. Enclose a copy of your confirmation e-mail with your check (and confirmation number or team name on the check) to assure your check is credited to the proper team. Mail requiring a signature (certified, registered, etc.) will not be accepted.

  • To complete applications:
    • Submit by the deadline in one envelope:
      1. Your confirmation of Registration from SoccerScheduler.com.
      2. A check or money order for the full tournament fee payable to Championship Tournaments (U.S. dollars only), if entry fee is not paid by credit card. Application will not be considered complete without payment. If your team is accepted, the fee is non-refundable. If your team is accepted and later withdraws, the fee is non-refundable and sanctions may be placed against your team for participation in future tournaments. Should your team not be accepted, the fee will be returned by February 1, 2012.
      3. Mail a confirmation of registration and the entry fee to:

Acceptance

  • Acceptance notification will be posted on this web site by January 25, 2012. Upon acceptance, teams will need to complete a number of tasks, including:
    1. Booking hotel reservations with AB Sports Zone.  All teams that are accepted in this tournament and have a need to stay overnight must use the AB Sports Zone reservation system. Any team that does not use the hotel booking agency will be disqualified from the tournament.  No refund will be issued.
    2. Entering player names and jersey numbers into the roster page of the team's SoccerScheduler page for use in the tournament game reports.
    3. For U16 - U19, it is recommended for teams to fill out the player profiles for the on-line access for the college coach search and also for placement into the player profile book that is handed out to all collegiate coaches in attendance.

Rosters & Guest Players

  • The following are the maximum roster size per age groups:
    • U11 - U15 (full sided) - 18 man roster
    • U16 - U19 (full sided) - 22 man roster, but only 18 are to be dressed and considered eligible for each match
  • A team may use no more than six (6) guest players, which must be approved by the Tournament Director at registration.

Check In (Submit tournament rosters)

  • Check - In will take place via email or on -site on Friday before the tournament weekend. On Friday, registration will take place at the Shearaton Columbia Town Center and/or the Homewood Suites Bel Air. All teams are required to register before playing or will risk forfeiting the tournament. Only a team representative needs to be present for registration. Teams that do not register on Friday will be fined and will forfeit all games until the team is properly registered.

Hotels

Elite Tournaments is pleased to announce the appointment of AB Sports Zone as our official Tournament Housing Coordinator for the 2012 Baltimore Mania Soccer Tournaments.  This is a stay to play event, any team that is in need of housing over the weekend is required to book with AB Sports Zone. Games, Rules, Awards

  • For all age groups, the usual format is three preliminary games plus a championship final -  two matches on Saturday, one on Sunday morning and the final on Sunday afternoon.  Teams will have the option to select if they would like to play a Friday night game, creating a one game a day schedule. Depending upon the number of participants in an age group, some divisions will play two preliminary games on Saturday, either a semifinal or consolation game on Sunday morning and the final on Sunday afternoon.
  • All games are played in accordance with FIFA rules, except as specifically modified by Tournament Rules. A full set of Tournament rules will available online by clicking Rules in the left menu
  • Awards are presented to first-place and second place teams in each division.
