Elite Tournaments was founded in 2000 when owner Michael Libber was looking for a way to help his U-12 team with the monetary costs of attending their first out of state tournament. Libber decided to create a mini-tournament for teams in his age group as a fund-raiser. His first event was attended by ten teams and was considered a successful experience for all involved. After such positive results, Libber was asked to continue managing his event within the tournament circuit. As the following year’s event brought in over 60 teams and continued success, a calling was realized and Elite Tournaments was born.
Over the last 15 years, Elite Tournaments has organized over 250 youth soccer events for numerous clubs, colleges, international and professional organizations. Based in Columbia, MD, the Mid-Atlantic region is a sweet spot for the business when it comes to youth soccer.
