The NSCAA will be providing coaching education opportunities to be held in conjunction with the showcase event. The education sessions are provided free of charge to all participating teams and college coaches in attendance.

About Dane Christian Ph.D.:

Dane Christian is in his second year as an assistant coach with the Pacific women’s soccer program after spending the last few years as an assistant coach at the Division I level. 

Along with his coaching duties, Christian serves as an assistant professor for several university departments. Among the courses and labs that he teaches are Research Methods, Statistics, as well as Philosophy. He earned both his Doctorate in Research Evaluation & Measurement, as well as his Masters in Philosophy from Washington State University.

Christian last coached in 2008 when he was a member of the staff at Oregon State. He spent the previous two seasons as an assistant at Washington State and helped coach the Cougars to wins against nationally ranked foes in Southern California and Oklahoma State. Christian helped mentor WSU standouts Carly Dobratz and Kiersten Dallstream, who went on to play professionally.

At the club level, Christian has enjoyed success coaching the FC Willamette Girls’ Pursuit team that has advanced to two Oregon State Cup quarterfinals appearances. He has also spent two seasons coaching the Moscow United Boys’ U-18 team from 2006 to 2007.  He is currently the coach of boys' U-17 Swat team for the Westside Metros Soccer Club.

A four-year collegiate player at NCAA Division III Concordia University in Wisconsin, Christian, a 2003 graduate of Concordia (Wis.), went on to play with the Atlanta Silverbacks Reserve squad of the United Soccer Leagues’ Premier Development League (PDL). In 2001, he was called to play in a number of matches for his native Trinidad & Tobago’s U-23 national team.

Christian has earned a Premier Diploma and Goalkeepers Level II certification from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and recently served as a shadow staff member for a NSCAA coaching course. Christian is married to Morgan Crabtree, Pacific’s head women’s soccer coach.
