Columbia Fall Classic - Girls

The Columbia Classic Fall Tournament is open to all competitive and classic club teams looking to round off their fall season. The primary site for this event will be the Bob Lucido Fields at Covenant Park in Ellicott City, Maryland. Other sites throughout Howard County such as, Howard Community College, will also be used.  Divisions are based on age and broken down into premier and classic brackets for all ages U9 - U19, depending on the quality and number of tournament entries. This weekend is open to all U9-19 Girls’ teams. The application deadline is October 25th, any application received after the deadline will pay a $100 late fee.

Attention: Howard County has come up with new protocols for this weekend's events and moving forward. No teams outside the state of Maryland will be permitted to play in any events until COVID-19 is back under control. This will mean that any team outside of Maryland for this weekend's event will be removed from the schedule. Brackets have been posted and the new schedule will be up by the end of today. I will make every effort to keep games as close as possible to their original time as well as make sure coaching conflicts are scheduled around but this is not guaranteed. Please be patient with this process.

Another policy that the counties have passed down is that only 1 parent per player will be permitted to be on the sidelines. I need to stress this as much as possible, ONLY 1 PARENT per player and NO SIBLINGS. Coaches and managers you need to notify your parents that there are no exceptions to this policy. The county will shut down field locations if this is not followed. All spectators will need to wear a mask at all times, again this is a policy that the county already had in place and it will be enforced. Any spectator/team not willing to wear a mask or team not following the 1 parent per player will result in your team forfeiting the remainder of your matches. These policies need to be followed as we want to keep every in a safe environment and still follow county guidelines.

To accomplish this we need your help sharing the following information with everyone attending and ensuring the steps passed down to us by Howard County Health Department are followed:

  1. Ensure everyone is provided with and follows the field guidelines, updated November 11, 2020, and Health Department Guidance for Tournaments. Please be advised if these are not followed, the tournament will be canceled.
  2. Face coverings must be worn at all times by parents. They will not be allowed on-site without a face covering.
  3. All coaches must wear a face covering at all times, even while coaching.
  4. Players and officials must wear a face covering at all times, except while playing/officiating.
  5. Everyone on-site must wear a face covering when walking to/from their cars, no exceptions.
  6. Only one parent/guardian per player is permitted.
  7. If we find that more than one parent/guardian is in attendance and face coverings are not being worn, we will shut down the tournament on the spot.
  8. In addition to face coverings being worn, we are stressing that social distancing still takes place. Note, even while social distancing a face covering must be worn.
  9. Bleachers/players benches/dugouts are closed.
  10. No tents will be allowed for teams
  11. After your game is complete teams must leave the field area and head to the parking lot to leave the facility.
  12. Only teams from Maryland are permitted to participate in the tournament.

Our refund policy for this tournament in relation to Covid-19 will be as follows:

If we are forced to cancel the event prior to 14 days before the start of the tournament, a full refund will be given to participating teams.  Essentially, no charge will be made.

If we are forced to cancel the event within 14 days of the start of the tournament (due to state or federal intervention), a refund minus expenses will be given (expenses will not exceed 25% of the application fee).  This will because at this point, some costs would have been incurred.  We will of course hope that once we get the green light, the event will go ahead as planned.

Donation Drive

Leveling The Playing Field collects used sports equipment to give to underpriviliged communities where children may not have affordable access to sports equipment and programs. They’ve donated over 100,000 items to youth sports organizations allowing them to reduce the cost of entry into these programs. It has also allowed these programs to hire and train more staff for additional programs and more personalized coaching. We will be collecting used sports equipment  for leveling the playing field at all of our tournament locations! Drop off donations at the headquarters area or with your field marshal.

Dear Participants and Families –

The Soccer Association of Columbia and Elite Tournaments are proud to announce a new initiative that will take place during both Columbia Fall Classic Weekends. Throughout both weekends, we will be hosting a Food Drive benefitting the Maryland Food Bank. We will be collecting non-perishable food items such as pasta, canned foods, and cereal. With Thanksgiving right around the corner, we want to help families in need keep food on their tables.

All items can be dropped off at the headquarters location of each tournament site. If you have any questions or would like to donate and cannot attend the event, please contact Cara Martin at

Check out a list of their most needed items: Click Here

Player Information

Player Profile Books:
Please make sure that you update your player profile information in the GotSoccer system so it is accessible by college coaches. You may need to contact your team manager or coach to add this information. This is the information that will be given to college coaches looking to recruit players.

Player Self-Recruiting: Elite Tournaments highly recommends that players reach out to the schools that they are interested in playing for. Many coaches come to our events to scout for pick up players, but will not realize that you interested in playing for their team unless you reach out to them! We also know that you have many schools that you are looking to play for that are not currently signed up to attend our event. You are encouraged to reach out to schools you are looking to attend, and let them know which events you will be playing in this season. We welcome you to invite these coaches to attend this event. If you have a coach that you are inviting to attend, please have them pre-register at the link above.

If you wish to referee the tournament, please contact our referee assignor. We welcome all out of town referees.
