Amanda Post Memorial Soccer Tournament

Kick off your team’s spring season with this small-sided tournament open to U8-U12 premier and classic teams of both genders. All games will be played on turf fields at Covenant Park in Ellicott City. Dedicated to the memory of Amanda Josephine Post, this championship format tournament draws 115+ teams from across the mid-Atlantic region annually.

Overview

Through the Community Foundation of Howard County, the Amanda Post Memorial Fund has now awarded $70,000 to fourteen (14) “winning” SAC student-athletes; and collectively with the Amanda Post “AmandaWins” River Hill High School Student-Athlete Scholarship, the fund has awarded an overall total of $145,000 to twenty-nine (29) SAC and RHHS student-athletes in eleven years.

Our 2020 awardee for Amanda’s The Amanda Post “AmandaWins” SAC/HC Student-Athlete Scholarship is Julia Noppenberger (Mt Hebron HS), an 11-year SAC player who will attend Haverford College to play soccer and pursue a biology degree in order to attend medical school and pursue a career in orthopedics. The $5,000 scholarship in Amanda’s memory is awarded to help defray Julia’s expenses during her freshman year of college.

The Soccer Association of Columbia/Howard County and Elite Tournaments are proud to announce we will be hosting a donation drive for the Children’s Hospital at Sinai during the 2021 Amanda Post Memorial Tournament. We are excited to continue this initiative for the 2021 event.

While Amanda was battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia, instead of playing soccer, she would spend months at a time at the Children’s Hospital at Sinai. In memory of Amanda’s strength and effort, we would like to invite you all to donate items that will benefit the children and families receiving treatment at that same facility. The Samuelson Children’s Hospital at Sinai helps patients fight a wide variety of childhood illnesses and treats patients on both a local and national level. We appreciate the testament to Amanda’s memory and thank you all for helping her passion for others live on through this generous act of kindness.

All items can be dropped off at Covenant Park during the Amanda Post Memorial Tournament. If you have any questions or would like to donate and cannot attend the event, please contact Cara Martin at cmartin@elitetournaments.com.
