Overview

Determination of Winners:

Champions and Finalist will be determined after all games in the flight are complete. Teams will be determined based on their overall points. The Champion and Finalist will receive a trophy (Champion) and medals (Champion and Finalist). 

 

If there is a tie, we will use the following Tie-Breaker System:

 

When the tie breaker system is used, the criteria are followed in order until one or more team is determined at any given step. The criteria then starts over again at the top of the tie breaker system with the remaining teams. Rules are repeated until a winner is determined. 

 

1.Head to Head Competition (if there is a 3-team tie, proceed to the next tie-breaker)

2.Most wins

3.Positive Goal Differential (the difference between goals for and goals against) with NO limit.

4.Most Shutouts

5.Fewest Goals Against

6.Coin Flip

 

Due to the change in format and locations, awards have been redistributed to tournament locations based on the likelihood of where bracket winners could be determined. If you think you have won your bracket, please check in with the site coordinator at the end of your game to collect your awards. If the winner is determined after your games have been completed, or if your location does not have awards present, the awards will be shipped to your team manager's address as listed in your team's Got Soccer account. 

 


 

Our refund policy for this tournament in relation to Covid-19 will be as follows:

If we are forced to cancel the event prior to 14 days before the start of the tournament, a full refund will be given to participating teams.  Essentially, no charge will be made. 

If we are forced to cancel the event within 14 days of the start of the tournament (due to state or federal intervention), a refund minus expenses will be given (expenses will not exceed 25% of the application fee).  This will because at this point, some costs would have been incurred.  We will of course hope that once we get the green light, the event will go ahead as planned.

The Columbia Kickoff is canceling all games for SATURDAY ONLY based on the predicted all-day thunderstorms. Under normal circumstances, we would have teams report to the fields and try to get games in, but with the added COVID protocol, we feel that this would not put all parties involved in a safe environment. We are currently working on schedules for Sunday that will give teams a minimum of 2 games. Unfortunately, no finals will be played. We understand that this is not the best situation, but the safety of our participants, spectators, and workers is our top priority.
